Balkan trip 6 - Slovenia - Climbing to Triglav part 2

Our efforts to climb Triglav will continue on this day. Apart from the climb, we still have to make it back to Lake Bohinj.

As I complained in the evening that the room was pretty cold, in the morning twelve sleeping people heated the room solidly and there was a solid sauna on the upper beds. We got up at six, had breakfast, washed up, packed up and left the hut at seven o'clock. Patrik is no longer with us and has decided to wait here until we return. From Koca pri Doliču there are two paths to Triglav. The faster one is two hours, but more difficult. The second was supposedly easier, but longer. The latter goes via the Plánika Dome. We chose the second one, which meant a two-hour hike to the hut, with part of the trail being a bit more ferrata-like.
Koca pri Dolicu

The weather looks like it's going to be perfect today. It took us an hour and a half to get to Planik's house. On the way we came across a bit longer section secured with ropes, so this part was not completely cool. On the other hand, those who don't feel dizzy can get over it without any difficulties.

Dom Planika

At Dom Planika, Triglav peeked out at us for the first time and with it came a shock. Climbing this mountain will be more challenging than we expected. Here the path turns into bare rock. Zanet knows that she can't do it with her dizziness and ends up at the hut. With the rest of us we will try to climb it, but the way without ferrata equipment, which we don't have, is quite dangerous. We climb up to the mountain saddle Triglavská vrata and decide that we will not go further, that we will not make it and we go back. It wouldn't work out in time. I can see it still taking about two hours of ascent and descent, which we would miss in the final stage of our return journey. Therefore, if you go through the Valley of the Seven Triglav Lakes, you need to continue from Koči pri Doliču by the shorter route, which is the ferrata route (which was our route in the end). However, I know people who have done it without equipment and told me that it is not a ferrata.

Disappointed by our failure, we descend. We take a few photos under Triglav, see how the helicopter supplies the hut and return to Koca pri Dolicu, where we pick up Patrik and continue our ascent to the Hribarice saddle.
We will rest on it for a while and continue over the saddle to the Green Lake, where we will pass a turn-off and get a bit lost while descending to the lake. It takes us a while to find each other again. We continue to Koča pri Triglavkih jezereh, where we take a bigger break, have a late lunch and refill water.

After a break we head to Black Lake and from there we descend down to Ukancu. We arrive at the campsite around 6:30 p.m. and go straight to the local restaurant and order something decent after two days of instant food.

The Reward

We eat it with great appetite, go to the tents to finally take off our shoes and after two days finally take a proper bath. We go to sleep again at sunset, there is no energy for any bigger events after such a hard day. As we are lying in the tent, we discover that a mouse must have visited us during our absence, because the net layer has a hole chewed through it. It has feasted on an energy bar and another sweets. I don't think she liked it very much. She left a lot. Tomorrow we move to Ljublana.
This is what happened after the uninvited visit
